ICW Asia Pacific Regional News

ICWAP participated in the Asia Pacific People's Forum on 25-27 March in Bangkok and APFSD by our ICW member

ICWAP participated in the Asia Pacific People’s Forum on 25-27March in Bangkok. Around 200 CS representatives were participated in the consultation.

It is important for the HIV sector to continue engaging with the APFSD as next year’s review will be even more relevant for Asia-Pacific (theme: Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality; SDG 4, 8, 10, 13, 16, 17).

Community people and concerned stakeholders should startstrategizing different ways to engage community at the country level on the HLPF reviews.

There were more than 200 CSOs representing various groups, constituencies and concerns bound together by the commitment to strengthen the inter-linkages among rights, development and sustainability and ensure prioritized attention for the most marginalized. In all areas of SDG planning, implementation and monitoring, Forum demands special and immediate attention to grassroots and marginalized constituencies including Indigenous Peoples, women, farmers, workers, fisher folk, urban poor, LGBTQI, people living with HIV/AIDS, young people, aging people, youth, migrants, disabled and Dalit populations.

What you need to do?

If you are not in coordination at country level on SDG related consultation then Start coordinating in your country level to strategizing and have better plan of community engagement.
