From our International Support Office (ISO), we execute various programs to accomplish the aims of our network:
Membership: we contact women, young women, adolescents and girls living with HIV to interest them in ICW GLOBAL. We consult with them about their interests, needs and priorities so that the network can work to accommodate its members on an on-going basis.
Advocacy: we participate in areas of decision making related to the issue of HIV/AIDS and explore non-traditional areas to be included in the field of work regarding this topic. We participate in discussions of treatment strategies and health care access for women living with HIV.
Training: we are creating a global strategy focused on regional training. The idea is to conduct regional training workshops/modules.
Rebuilding and Strengthening Regional Autonomies: this program is designed to accompany the institutional development of the network in each region: North America, Latin America, English Caribbean, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Africa. The ISO provides technical and political support for each region.
Communication Plan: we design, edit, and distribute the ICW GLOBAL NEWS magazine. We are currently redesigning our global media and communication strategy in order to renew the visibility of the network, including setting up social networks,
newsletters and other accessible forums.
Chapter on Young Women, Adolescents and Girls (CYWAG): we work with young girls and adolescents living with HIV for their specific interests and explore possible areas for their involvement. We are currently putting together a specific plan of action for this group.
Campaign “More Peace, Less AIDS”: We call on world leaders of various governmental and nongovernmental organizations, artists, intellectuals, cultural icons, and businesses to support PEACE as an effective instrument to stop the spread of AIDS. The campaign for Peace increases the visibility of women, young women, adolescents and girls who suffer from discrimination and the stigma associated with HIV.
CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility as Social Recognition, a view from a gender perspective: to call on and raise the awareness of businesspeople and labor unionists to introduce them to this issue. We intend to invite businesspeople to be part of the International Business Council in support of ICW GLOBAL, to design shared actions in the internal business sector and a communication strategy that can make this shared effort visible and that will send a clear message as to what this initiative represents in terms of social investment. To elaborate terms of reference that will be taken into account when offering a diploma that will recognize a friendly business in the AIDS issue.
Resource Mobilization: Our objective is to provide tools for the women in our different regions that allow them to obtain their own resources through the execution of concrete plans.
