  • ICW Updates
    • ICW with support from Robert Carr Fund hosted an internal reflection and planning meeting in Kampala, Uganda
    • ICW participated in the Drug Policy Reform Consultation and the 6th Annual Symposium of HIV, Law & Human Rights in Toronto, Canada
    • Kenya’s Fund’s Portfolio Manager (FPM) of the Global Fund to fight HIV, TB and Malaria
    • ICW launched a statement to reply to the Strategic Timing of Anti-Retroviral Treatment START findings.
    • Lillian Mworeko from ICW Eastern Africa represented ICW on the WHO’s Global Validation of Elimination of EMTCT Panel.
    • ICW in partnership with ICW West Africa and Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) have been reviewing proposals for a joint coalition in Nigeria
    • In June, ICW added a new member to the Global Staff team, Ms. Margaret Happy.

    • This month the Members Advocacy Workshop on Criminalization of HIV non-disclosure, exposure and transmission featured a presentation by the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network.
    • ICW continues with our campaign to raise resources for the women’s networks on the ground in Nepal for their basic needs.
    • ICW developed and submitted abstracts for IAS Pathogens, ICASA, ICAAP, and the AWID Conference in 2016.
    • ICW continued to release regular Global Fund updates and share them with diverse stakeholders inclusive of membership and partners.

  • ICW Updates
    • ICW was highly active in mobilizing women living with HIV to participate in the UNAIDS Strategy Consultation
    • The ICPD took place the 13th to 17th of April in NYC.
    • ICW participated in the Post 2015 discussions in NYC
    • After approximately two years the Stigma Index International partners ICW, GNP+ and UNAIDS had come together.
    • ICW and WGNRR joined forces to host an International Young Women’s Forum in Abuja, Nigeria
    • The Free Space Partners (ICW, NSWP, AIDS Alliance, GATE, ITPC, GNP+, ICASO, HYLF, INPUD, and ICSS) had their annual meeting in Amsterdam.
    • We thank and support ICASO
    • ICW met with the Dutch Minister to talk about Dutch leadership to END AIDS.
    • The First Global Fund Partnership Forum targeting participants majorly from East, Central and South Africa will be held in Addis Ababa
    • The Global Fund partnership has launched a human rights complaints procedure
    • ICW finalized Reports for the Research Collaboration with IAVI, Love Positive Women 2015, and the Commission on the Status of Women.

    • Over 20 ICW members and staff participated in the 59th Commission on the Status of Women. Post 2015 Engagement at UN Headquarters in NYC:
    • Global Fund hosted a Board Meeting where a number of ICW members participated including our Global Fund Coordinator Maurine Murenga. ICW had a team of 8 that marched in the International Women’s Day March on March 8th.
    • ICW participated in the UNAIDS End Review Agenda for Women, Girls, Gender Equality & HIV during CSW59.
    • The Positive Women in the Ukraine hosted a session at CSW 59 titled – One Step Back?
    • ICW partnered with ATHENA, Link Up, AIDS Alliance, AIDS Legal Network and Access Chapter 2
    • ICW partnered with Visual AIDS and the Jane Mitchell Foundation to host a WERRRKSHOP titled My Body! My Rights!
    • My Womb! My Decision! Reproductive Justice and Activism
